Текст песни

Когда состаришься

Когда состаришься, в вечерний час
Раскрой, сев у камина, этот том;
Мечтай за книгой, вспоминай о том,
Как мягок взор был, что теперь угас;

William Butler Yeats
When You are Old

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

Перевод песни

When you get old

When you get old, in the evening hour
Open this volume, sitting by the fireplace;
Dream behind a book, remember
How soft the gaze was that now faded;

That there was a lot of things in fate,
I was loved for grace and beauty,
But the eye of sorrow and the soul of a pilgrim
Only one person has loved in you.

Bend your gray head to the fire,
Say: Love is gone, and for some time now,
Now walks the tops of the mountains
In the heavens - akin to the constellations.
