Глава 9ЧХАНДОГЬЯ-УПАНИШАДА
текст Чхандогья-упанишады
Эта упанишада соединена с Самаведой. В ней 8 разделов, первые пять посвящены различным путям приближения к идеалу (упасанам), а последние три проясняют способ, с помощью которого приобретается истинное знание. Чистота сознания является важнейшим условием для упасаны. Для познания Брахмана необходима предельная целеустремленность, которая может быть достигнута посредством кармы и упасаны, таким образом завоевывается брахмаджняна. Вот почему в шастрах карма описана первой, упасана – следующей, а джняна – последней.
В первой главе Чхандогьи подробно разбирается упасана, которая составляет часть Самаведы. Во второй главе описан полный ритуал Саман, в третьей представлены упасана (поклонение) Сурье, известное как Мадхувидъя, Гаятри упасана и Сандилья видья. Члены рода Уддалака всегда были погружены в изучение Вед, и поэтому они прославились как высокородная семья. Но Шветакету, сын Уддалаки, терял драгоценные годы после упанаяны в праздности, не используя их для ведийских штудий. Members of the kind of Uddalak have always been immersed in the study of the Vedas, and therefore they became famous as a hollow family.
