Бледный как смерть, он ползёт в кромешной тьме,слышно его дыхание густое.
Бледный - не бледный, но страшный во тьме -
сердце его всё жаждет покоя..
Страшная масса шагнула вперёд,
слышится крик где то там издалека..
Злое ущелье шумит и зовёт -
Нет на спасение и тени намёка.
Крикнуло что-то, завыл ветерок.
И ожила душа вечной лжи и лести.
Манит всю негу сердец огонёк,
что будут они живы, пока вместе..
Зашевелилась крыса-дитя,
Закопошились и змеи
сердце его и сердце её,
оберегали добрые феи.
Страстью покрытое тело дрожит,
видится чудо - и не чудо людское,
но он не скажет и как всегда молчит.
Страсть - это чувство для них не мирское.
А она, крепко сжимая виски,
бессмысленно смотрит мимо него.
Видит он безумной тоски,
полны её глаза. И ничего,
Смотрит - не видит. Слышится вой..
тянет в пространстве он руки,
странное чувство, боли пустой
и неземные ужасные муки,
что жила она в мире мирском,
в счастье, в покое, в любви, его снах,
Заняла в сердце его неживом,
Всё; вытесняя оттуда весь его страх,
пред смертью, что жаждет притаясь за углом,
страх что навеки останется ждать.
Когда услышит наконец души её согласие,
но не расслышит уже она его прощанье,
ведь жизнь их обоих оборвалась давно в веках..
