Она в слезах просила,
Чтоб счастье наступило
И настал день свадьбы заветной.
«Я исполню просьбу твою сполна», -
Отвечала с неба с грустью луна,
«Но взамен немало, за любовь цыгана -
Отдашь ты мне первенца.
Пусть это жестоко, но не одинока
Будешь ты до конца».

И мечтает любить, но нет рядом того,
Кто ей счастье подарит,
А преданье гласит, удивительно, но
А-а, луна получила сына.
2. И вот у цыгана родился сын:
У дитя глаза как серый дым
С белоснежной кожей, на луну похожий–
И в сомненьях отец.
«Я молчать не буду!» -
в ярости он думал,-
«Измена – это конец!».

3. И цыган, поверивший в позор,

После бросил сына на седой вершине,
И прочь удалился без сил.

4. И с тех пор луна любви полна,
